It's Been a While...

It's been way too long since my last post.  Today is the 1st of May, a new month and another fresh start.  April was a rough month and I'm looking forward to see what May brings.  We woke up to snow this morning and I had to crank up the furnace, it was a bit chilly!  I have still been working on Project Life and loving it!  Hoping to be able to work on it this weekend in celebration of National Scrapbook day. :)  We finally replaced our dishwasher after about 2 years without having a functioning one, it's still so weird to load a dishwasher.  Dad and Clay installed it a couple of weeks ago, so nice to have handy men around.  Had my car in the shop a couple of times and still need to take it back, more than a little frustrated about it but looking forward to not seeing my "Service Engine Soon" light on my dash anymore.  Trying to look on the bright side.  I took Clay's pickup in this morning for a new windshield, so he should be able to see a little clearer. ;)  Now just got to get the 5th wheel hitch installed and we will be ready for the summer!  Wait, still need to get a new battery for the 4-wheeler and get it registered and then we will be ready! LOL  It feels good to get some things crossed off my list.

Clay and I bought new bikes last weekend and I am so excited to be able to join the kids on rides and hoping to plan some rides as a family.  We mowed the law and did some yard work last weekend, it was so nice to be outside!  Conner mowed while Clay and I detailed our vehicles.  Then, later we cooked hamburgers out on the grill for the first time this year!  It was the perfect weekend and an added bonus that the kids were with us!  I love being together as a family!  Sunday we celebrated my dad's 76th birthday by having dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  Dad was such a good sport and rode the saddle!  It was awesome!!  We had a wonderful time!  We are looking forward to school getting out for the summer but working hard on homework in the meantime, planning a fun summer vacation and of course some camping trips.  I love being in the mountains and relaxing!  There's nothing better!!  This summer I am in charge of our annual Johnson Family Reunion and I am so excited for it!  I've got some fun ideas and I can't wait to see everyone!  Lots to do to get ready!

More Visits from Melvin

This week started with this little guy watching the movie "Elf" downstairs on the couch, popcorn and all. :)
Then, Mr. Melvin Mischeif took down all the stockings and replaced them with our underwear!!  Look at him on the shelf looking all innocent?
Melvin didn't cause any trouble when he colored a picture of Santa and himself.  So cute!!

Made a little marshmallow bubble bath in the bathroom sink.  Rub a dub dub an Elf in the tub!  Oh Melvin what will you do next?  Crazy kid!!

More Melvin Adventures

Melvin got a bit thirsty for some syrup.  It's a well known fact that Elves love syrup. ;)
The next morning we woke up to a "be good" message in some Christmas cereal.  Thanks for the reminder Melvin.
I think that Melvin is hoping we get some snow soon and got a little impatient so he improvised with some sugar and snowflake sprinkles.  So stinking cute!
Then Saturday, Melvin caught a cold from playing in the snow and raided the medicine cabinet to try feeling better.  Poor little guy.  I sure hope he gets feeling better.

The Adventures of Melvin the Elf

This holiday season we have been lucky enough to have visits from one of Santa's special elves each morning.  Melvin has been pretty mischievous so far and it's so exciting to wake up each morning and see what his latest adventure is.  Hopefully when he sees Santa each night he is giving a good report.....
The first night Melvin thought it would be funny to draw on the pictures of the kids that hang in the hallway...

Then he toilet papered the living room!!!
He looks pretty innocent doesn't he???
Making copies of himself on the printer.
Melvin got a little crafty and made himself a paper countdown chain and has been patiently counting down and waiting for the kids to come home.  Wonder what he will be up to tonight?????  Tune in to see what our little Melvin is up to next.

Project Life - Week 7

Week 7 we celebrated Valentine's Day, my niece was in the hospital, finished up a project and had a wonderful date night with our neighbors.  I cannot fully express how much I enjoy the creative process of Project Life.  Wish I wasn't so far behind but there is nothing I love more! :)  Ok maybe the hubby and kiddos! ;)
